Personal Style: Sporting Winter

Break out of your winter style rut with a sport-inspired look.

I don't know about you, but lately I've been wishing it was summer. It's warm, it's beautiful, and getting dressed while being comfy and looking good is a breeze. But since I don't have tickets to the Caribbean and you probably don't either (if you do, then go away), I figured the best way to tide myself over is to put together comfortable, simple, easy to replicate, and most of all, CHIC layered outfits. This one is sporty and fun but has a touch of glam due to the faux fur. Sneakers, two different washes of denim, and a good striped shirt is just what I need to beat those winter blues!

A denim vest is a must for layering, especially if your style is a little more laid-back and casual. These jeans are so perfect -- their straight cut is a nice break from the now-classic skinny jean, and their color is everything... not to mention how insanely comfy they are! Since it's a casual outfit and I wanted my hair out of my face, I put my hair in a messy sock bun and topped it off with a denim scrunchie. And since we know that normcore is here to stay, as I mentioned in my "walking through 2014" post, my running shoes were not a fashion faux pas (hardy har) and didn't kill my feet all day!!

Will you try this outfit? What's your winter fashion must-have? Sound off in the comments!
